Johnson Family Canadian Reunion

Matt and I just got back from our Johnson family reunion in Barnwell Canada, where my Mom grew up. Cindy, Vaylene, and Bill and their families went, too.

They had a parade there celebrating the 100 year anniversary of the church and school there in Barnwell. This is the Johnson family float we got to ride on .

This is the Barnwell school that my Mom went to when she was little. In their parades they throw water balloons instead of candy! The people in the crowd throw them, too, and have water guns to shoot the people in the parade!

After the parade everyone headed for the canal bridge to jump in and cool off. The kids all loved it!

In this video there are 40 second-cousins all jumping at once!

Here we are with some of our favorite cousins, Del Johnson's daughters. Cindy, Candice, Kara, Corrine, Loreita, Vaylene, and Carla
Later we all went to Barnwell park and played lots of fun games. This one was called "roll over." Pretty self-explanitory!

Chicken Races! These were hilarious! Here are Matt & Christopher with their chicken they named "Buster",

This video shows the barrell racing portion of the chicken contests. =)

The kids enjoyed trying to milk a cow for the first time. This is William Tucker.

One of the favorite activities for the teenagers was playing " King of the Dirt Hill".

Our family at the reunion. ( Vada's Family ) Each family was assigned to wear a different color.
Our color was Purple.
The last day of the reunion was spent at the lake at my cousin Marty's. There was lots of boating, playing of the beach, eating, and visiting.

It was so much fun to get to see cousins that I hadn't seen for years! It was Matt's first time in Canada, and he thought it was such a fun reunion! The Canadian cousins went to so much work planning the games, food, parade float, and everything. Thank you so much for such a great reunion!!!

Family Fun

We had a really fun weekend together! Jon & Liz got here on Thursday, and Kip and Katie came up Thursday night. We had a blast playing together and watching the cute babies!
Brooks made this bean bag toss game and the guys LOVE it! They get pretty competitive, though...
It's very entertaining to watch!
Cute baby Neal. =)
Neal and Savanna a little too close for comfort. But so cute!
Hanging out together...
First Sunday night at Great-Grandpa Dewey's together!
Neal looked so handsome!
Jon and Matt throwing things at each other. As usual.

Matt's Eagle Project

For Matt's Eagle Project they assembled 18 metal picnic tables for the new Stake Center's outdoor pavillion.
Lots of boys and leaders came to help!
Lining up the legs of the table
Putting on the support braces
Attatching the bench seats
Taking a snack break!

Good job, Matt! We're proud of you!!!

Another new addition...

(This post is by Krissy, by the way)
This is Mom and Dad's newest addition to their home:
A pretty fountain out in the front yard! Mom has always wanted one, and it is so cute.
Also, they have this cute little tree on the back porch.

Today we had BEACH DAY at Grandma & Grandpa's!
It was HOT today, and Austin "invited" Grandma and Grandpa to come to his swim party outside at their house. They got in their swim shorts and came! So did a bunch of neighborhood kids! It was lots of fun.
Savanna even made a brief appearance in her cute swim suit. It didn't last long! She was sleepy.
At the end Grandpa brought out popsicles for everyone. What a great Grandma & Grandpa we have!!!

Our new Grandson!

Jon and Liz had their baby! He was born on June 16th, at Duke in North Carolina. He weighed 10 pounds, 5 ounces, and was 22 1/4 inches long. They named him Neal Jonathan Dewey. We're so proud of Jon and Liz, and we can't wait to hold our new grandson!

Happy Birthday Neal!

Today is Neal's birthday! We went to Fredrico's for lunch, (best place ever, and where Neal and Loreita went on their first date after the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band concert,) and then we had dinner and cake and ice cream tonight.
Grandpa and Savanna. Cute!
Austin brought his "real ropes" and after dinner the boys had a little rodeo.
Grandpa Hansen and Austin were team roping Matt.
And Grandpa even roped Brooks! It was fun and so funny.
Happy Birthday Neal!

Memorial Day Weekend

It was good timing for baby Savanna to come because Katie and Kip got to come up for Memorial day weekend!
Uncle Matthew was very happy to finally get to hold Savanna. They have a rule that you can't visit the hospital if you're under 14 years old and not the baby's sibling, but a nice nurse let him come see her because she felt so bad that he was left out! Thank goodness!
