SaN DiEgO!!!

For Spring Break we went to sunny San Diego!

As soon as we checked into our hotel room, everything started shaking--there was an earthquake! It was a 7.2! We felt 4 or 5 aftershocks over the next couple of days as well.

Matt's friend Nelson came with us. Check out these waves they were catching.....they are CRAZY.
We spent a couple of days at the beach, and the boys loved boogie boarding and playing in the warm sand.

One of their friends from school was also there on vacation with her family.
It's tradition to bury Matt in the sand and put chips on him so the birds will dive down and eat them. =)

The Hotel Del in the background--built in the 1880's.

We also went to Sea World!
It was fun seeing the whale show. These pictures are for the grandkids:
"Shamu! Shamu! Shamu!"Petting the bat raysThe shark tunnel Matt and Nelson tried to out-eat eachother the entire trip. I gained 10 pounds just watching them! =)
They had fun playing tennis in the parking lot.On the way home we stayed in St. George for a night, where Krissy & Brooks and their family were spending Spring Break. We got to play together! The Hansens had these awesome whale and shark toys that provided great entertainment!Fights...and races...too funny! The Weigh In:
Matt & Nelson weighed themselves in Brigham City on the way out, and had the goal of gaining at least 5 lbs on the trip. So on the way home they stopped again....
Bad news. After eating non-stop for the entire week, Matt gained a mere 2 lbs, and Nelson gained only a half a pound. Rats.
